The road trip was long as Emil drove to visit his
girlfriend, Alexei. They were apart for three months and he really missed her.
He drove hard as he worked his way across country. The desert made for great
driving conditions. He made good time as he drove twenty hours a day.
He turned the radio off when they talked about a TG virus
outbreak three states away. Emil was interested in seeing Alexei. He stopped
for gas after a long run. A man called out “Miss” to him. Emil was confused. He
looked in the rear view mirror when the light went on. The TG virus must be
here!
Emil enjoyed the thought at first. He looked pretty. He also
needed a different name. He did not look like an Emil anymore. Marie! That was
the perfect name. She was Marie. Then she realized she would have to explain
this to Alexia. She knew Alexei was bisexual; now would be the test. It did not
matter. Marie is finally a woman and it really felt good.
