Mystery Island was on Eric’s to-do list. The stories were more
than he could resist. The tall tales of people disappearing and strange women
showing up out of nowhere made it sound like the Bermuda Triangle.
Only a handful of tourists were allowed on the island at a
time to protect the fragile ecosystem. The quiet was so relaxing. Eric removed
his socks and shoes and started walking in the edge of the water. It was so
refreshing and soothing. He kept walking as his mind emptied. Before long he
forgot his name. Then she remembered; her name is Beatrice. Yes, Beatrice.
Beatrice enjoyed the rest of the week exploring. When it
came time to leave Beatrice knew where she had to go. She remembered everything
Eric ever was, but she also had a feminine life, too. The tour guide saw it all
before and allowed Beatrice on the boat ride home.
The neighbors never thought much about the new girl next
door. People kept to themselves. They all assumed Eric moved and Beatrice moved
in. She is a quiet girl and therefore welcome. Beatrice smiled when she thought
of her trip to Mystery Island. To her the mystery was solved.
